Undiscovered Islands was the first large-scale concert series from New Amsterdam, taking place at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn, NY. It featured a series of headliner musical events from some of the brightest starts in the city’s blossoming indie classical community, including two official new Amsterdam record release events: Nadia Sirota’s first things first and Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society’s Infernal Machines. Undiscovered Islands also included three groundbreaking world premieres: William Brittelle’s art rock opus Television Landscape, Missy Mazzoli’s multi-media chamber opera Song from the Uproar, and Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Penelope featuring Signal, along with a set of new work by So Percussion. The series was roundly praised, and was reviewed favorably by The New York Times twice. Click below for more info.
