Founded on principles of community, artistic diversity, and stylistic freedom, New Amsterdam Presents is an artist service organization dedicated to supporting the public’s engagement with new music through presentation and distribution.
Over the five years since its inception by composers William Brittelle, Judd Greenstein, and Sarah Kirkland Snider, New Amsterdam has presented and curated over 75 live events and released over 50 records that have collectively garnered two Grammy nominations, a Pulitzer Prize, and numerous features and countless appearances on New York Times, Pitchfork, NPR, and other major publications.
These achievements, while they reflect New Amsterdam’s strength as an organization, are a direct extension of the talent and skill of the incredible artists in the New Amsterdam roster. These artists — composers, performers, bands and ensembles — are united not by a common sound but by their lofty artistic standards and a shared desire to continually develop their craft, taking chances artistically while engaging with as wide a range of audiences as possible.
