We are extremely pleased to announce Aaron Roche as the newest member of the NewAm family.  Aaron is a singularly talented musician who has established himself as a composer, performer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and home recording whiz.  His music effortlessly and unassumingly blends together threads from indie rock songcraft, contemporary composition, American folk traditions, lo-fi drone, and avant garde noise rock, all filtered through Aaron’s highly original  vision that is both sweepingly ambitious and refreshingly unpretentious.  Aaron is also a consummate collaborator who has worked with musicians across musical boundaries.  Most recently, Aaron collaborated with Shahzad Ismaily and DIY indie icon R. Stevie Moore on a 7-inch recording for La Station Radar.

This summer, New Amsterdam Records will release Aaron’s EP !BlurMyEyes, a lush and entrancing song cycle that showcases the breadth and depth of Aaron’s talents. Check out a teaser for the album here.  The full-length followup to !BlurMyEyes is currently in the works and will see a release sometime in 2013.  Stay tuned for more news on that.

We’re all very excited to have Aaron as part of the NewAm team.  Welcome, Aaron!
